The beauty of the building process, St Clements, York

E . G . A was established as a place to make work with care, wit and joy. We want those qualities to inform both the design proposals and the design process to produce carefully crafted contributions to our urban, natural and cultural landscape.

We work on buildings, landscapes, installations and exhibitions - believing strongly in the invigoration of working across scale and discipline and in collaboration with artists, professionals, contractors and clients.

Originally from Yorkshire, Eleanor studied at The University of Cambridge, then at London Metropolitan University and the University of Westminster, qualifying as an architect in 2019. Prior to establishing the studio, she was an Associate at Lynch Architects running the refurbishment and extension of Grade II Listed Westminster Coroner’s Court. She has also worked as Senior Designer at Nissen Richard Studio, running museum projects with clients including The Wallace Collection and The Imperial War Museum.

Her experience includes residential, civic and listed buildings; in tight urban plots and wide-open fields; in Conservation Areas and inside existing structures.

Our particular professional focus is on architecture that improves streetscapes and reuses and remodels existing structures and buildings. We strive to make architecture that explores how old and new can co-exist and elevate one another.

We have several exciting projects on site and in the pipeline but welcome enquiries of collaboration…
